FreevoTM Personal Video Recorder*
Octagon Software

Introduction

* Not affiliated with freevo.sf.net

Freevo is a simple personal video recorder that can be run using minimal hardware and has the following features:

The various components of the system (such as the video capture support, remote control support, tv guide support, etc) are modular, so different drivers can be written and plugged in.

As the platform of choice, initially, drivers will be available for Linux. The tested configuration is a 500 Mhz system with an ATI All-in-Winder-Pro television card and an ATI Remote control. Other video4linux capture cards will probably work as well, but they are untested.

Current plans are not to make this project publicly available. It is simply a personal project to see what I could do with a leftover system for under $300 in upgrades.

This project is still under development and will take some time until it's complete.
